Our Pre-K students read the story "The Little Scarecrow Boy" by Margaret Brown.
In the story, the Little Scarecrow Boy lived in a cornfield with his family. His father would go out every day and scare the crows. The Little Scarecrow Boy wanted to be just like his father. Every time he asked his father if he could go out in the cornfield, he would say “No, you’re not FIERCE enough!"
Students were given the task of working with their parents to help The Little Scarecrow Boy make a FIERCE face so he can go out in the cornfield like his father.
